Gary & Claudia Cousins

European Youth Challenge Coordinators

I (Gary) was born in Northern Ireland and came to know that Lord at a CEF Holiday Bible Club, aged seven. I grew up through the Good News Club and Youth Challenge ministries. So I am not only very familiar with the work of CEF, but I am personally convinced of the need to evangelise children, to follow them up through the JYC and SYC ministries and to see them integrated into local churches.

1992 - 1996 First served with CEF Europe in our former print shop near Kilchzimmer
1996 - 1999 Studied at Brake Bible College in Germany and met my wonderful wife Claudia, a nurse, from Neumünster, Germany. We married shortly after graduation and moved to N. Ireland.
2000 - 2006 Served as a Baptist Pastor in N. Ireland
2007 - present Serving as CEF European Youth Challenge Coordinators.
The ministry of Youth Challenge has four main objectives:
  • follow up children coming out of the Good News Club
  • evangelise and disciple the young teens
  • channel them into local evangelical churches
  • challenge them about missions (especially to reach children).
We are seeking to develop this ministry across Europe by promoting the work and providing training, literature and other resources for national workers.
We live in Binzen, Kr. Lörrach, just over the border into Germany and 40 minutes from Kilchzimmer.
Children: We have two boys Joel (2001) and David (2003).
Hobbies: Gary enjoys reading, hill walking and working on his Mac computer. Claudia is very much into arts and crafts. She enjoys painting (oils and acrylics), card-making and cooking.
